Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 60W fast charging rumor crushed

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 60W fast charging rumor crushed
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may end up supporting 45W charging speed after all. A rumor from a credible source created a lot of hype, but it was crushed by a Chinese authority’s certification that emerged online.
Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W fast charging, the same as the S24 Ultra. A charging speed upgrade was in heavy demand, and a previous rumor sparked happiness among Samsung fans, claiming a 60W charging upgrade.
Following claims also emerged online, suggesting the time required to charge the battery to certain levels. The Galaxy S26 Ultra was said to charge 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes, a notable improvement over its predecessor.
Well, Samsung seems to have no 60W charging upgrade planned for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Chinese regulatory certification has listed Samsung’s unreleased SM-S9480 model that features 45W charging support (10V/4.5A or 15V/3A).
Since the certification is for the Chinese variant, the country will likely cap the charging speed at 45W like before. As the leaker is still ambitious for 60W charging, there’s a little chance that some countries might get 60W charging.
Samsung might ship the Galaxy S26 Ultra with 60W fast charging in key markets in America, Asia, and Europe. It’s up to Samsung whether it plans to ship its flagship device with different charging speeds across countries.
Certification aside, a leaked One UI 8.5 build has also teased 60W charging speed for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Therefore, there still seems to be some surprises left in the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s endless charging speed controversy.
A steep push of 15W will surely reduce the charging time of the 5000mAh battery. However, it remains to be confirmed after this certification leak. Do you want the Galaxy S26 Ultra to finally debut an upgraded charging speed?
