iPhone 17 Air bend test fuels Apple vs Samsung rivalry

Apple’s new iPhone 17 Air has survived a brutal durability and bend test. The most anticipated durability test video by JerryRigEverything has been released, showing Apple’s first slim phone facing an extreme durability test.

iPhone 17 Air launched as a direct competitor to Galaxy S25 Edge. It’s slimmer than the S25 Edge but doesn’t compromise on durability. The bend test by JerryRigEverything signals the start of the Samsung vs Apple rivalry.

Starting with the scratch test, the iPhone 17 Air started to show minor scratches at Mohs level 7. The phone’s frame (made of Aluminum) was easily scratched by a sharp knife, the same way as other phones demonstrate.

The screen glass has shown impressive protection against lighter flames. The iPhone’s front side has not developed any visible sign of damage. Well, everyone (including Samsung users) is waiting for the bend test, which comes next.

Zack put extreme pressure on the iPhone 17 Air, but the phone survived well. The inhuman act began when Zack brought the device to a customized setup. He put the phone to lift a vehicle, but it impressed in this aspect as well.

The iPhone 17 Air escaped up to the weight of 97kg, impressing everyone. Such weight can’t be put in regular usage, even in a pocket in critical conditions.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge has also survived the durability and bend test. There’s a notable difference in the thickness of both devices, yet they are showing nice results.

The Galaxy S25 Edge was introduced with a 5.8mm thickness, while the iPhone 17 Air is a little thinner at 5.6mm. These devices have fewer cameras than regular flagships and smaller batteries, due to their target segment.
