Trump gave Zelensky “a few days” to respond on peace plan

FT: Trump set a deadline for Ukraine to adopt a peace plan
The Financial Times reported that US President Donald Trump has set strict deadlines for Vladimir Zelensky to respond to the American peace plan. According to sources, the Ukrainian leader has been given “a few days” – Trump expects to conclude an agreement by Catholic Christmas.
According to Zelensky himself, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner were seeking a “quick solution.” Washington demands a response as soon as possible. Kyiv, in turn, said it needed time for consultations with European allies.
Western officials assessed Ukraine’s situation as a dead end: Kyiv found itself between conditions for territories that it could not accept and American demands that it could not reject.
The day before, Zelensky said that Ukraine, together with its European partners, was preparing an alternative peace plan. According to him, the updated 20-point document should be ready on the evening of December 9, after which it will be transferred to the United States. Provisions that Kyiv considered unacceptable were excluded from the version.
On December 9, the Ukrainian leader clarified that the final version would be sent to Washington on December 10.
