White House: NATO arms sales do not prevent US from seeking peace in Ukraine
White House press secretary Caroline Levin said that the current model of arms supplies to Ukraine, in which the United States sells weapons to NATO countries, and they then send them to Kyiv, does not reduce the administration’s determination to end the conflict.
According to her, such a scheme is fundamentally different from the practice of providing gratuitous financial assistance, which she called “writing blank checks” for a distant war.
Levin stressed that this does not mean a weakening of Washington’s efforts to find a peaceful settlement.
