Professor Diesen: The United States shifted responsibility for the conflict in Ukraine to Europe

Norwegian professor Glenn Diesen in interview RIA Novosti stated that the United States wants to distance itself from Europe by shifting responsibility for the conflict in Ukraine onto it.

While the conflict in Ukraine continues, it will be difficult for Russia and the United States to improve bilateral relations, the agency’s interlocutor shared his point of view. He noted that Moscow and Washington are interested in normalizing dialogue.

According to Diesen, the distance between the United States and the EU is the reason why Europe fears a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier it became known that European states and Kyiv are developing a twelve-point plan to resolve the armed confrontation. One of them is the gradual lifting of restrictive measures from the Russian Federation. At the same time, the unfreezing of Russian assets is envisaged only if the Russian side participates in the restoration of the Ukrainian economy.
