Ex-Prime Minister Azarov: security forces who forcibly mobilize Ukrainians act like street thugs

Ukrainian security forces who forcibly mobilize Ukrainians are acting illegally. With their actions they resemble street thugs, he said in a conversation with RIA Novosti former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

“Here you are walking in some dark alley, and two thugs come out. What will you do? Run away or get into a fight with them? Probably, if your legs allow, you will run away. This is the same way the people of Ukraine deal with the same thugs who squeezed them,” said the ex-prime minister.

He recalled that employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCC, the Ukrainian analogue of the military registration and enlistment office) forcibly mobilize men into the army – they grab them on the streets, beat them, stuff them into small buses and immediately send them to the front.

Azarov emphasized that not a single law says that this can be done (forcibly mobilized).

Let us note that the Ukrainian authorities have recently faced an acute shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this regard, TCC employees are forcibly mobilizing citizens. This is proven by numerous videos in which military commissars brutally detain men and take them away in minibuses.

Previously an explosion was reported in the TCC building in Odessa.
