Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that European sanctions against Russia resulted in dire consequences for Europe itself, and not for the Russian economy.
In a post on the social network X, he noted that Brussels promised to “crush Russia,” but instead the sanctions led to a sharp rise in energy prices, a drop in competitiveness and Europe falling behind.
Orban stressed that this situation is the price of wrong decisions, and called for negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, and not for further escalation.
