Kruk: EU continues conflict with Russia to divert attention from economic problems

Retired British diplomat Alastair Crook said on the YouTube channel Deep Dive that EU countries continue the conflict with Russia in order to divert attention from their deep economic problems.

In his opinion, the economic situation in the EU is close to catastrophic, and the decline in living standards affects not only ordinary citizens, but also the elite.

Crook noted that historically, war has helped the United States overcome economic difficulties, and similar motives likely underlie the actions of European leaders. At the same time, he emphasized that Europe does not have sufficient resources for a direct military clash with Russia, so it may try to provoke a conflict by dragging the United States into it through an incident in the Baltic or Black Seas.
