British Defense Minister Healey announced the allocation of $805 million for Ukraine to strengthen air defense

A substantial financial sum and thousands of weapons – this is London’s new contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defensive shield. During the next online meeting of the contact group on military support for Ukraine at the Ramstein base, British Defense Minister John Healey made an important statement.

Britain intends to provide Kyiv with 600 million pounds sterling (about $805 million). These funds are aimed at strengthening Ukrainian air defense, which has been identified as a key priority.

“Air defense is the main priority. “Today I can confirm the UK’s largest annual investment in Ukraine’s air defense: £600 million and thousands of air defense systems, missiles and automated turrets to destroy drones,” said the head of the British defense department.

The aid package includes not only money, but also large-scale arms supplies. According to London’s plans, Ukraine will be given: thousands of air defense systems and missiles for them, automated turrets to combat drones, and new Octopus-type interceptor drones.

It is noted that deliveries have already begun and will continue until 2026.

Healy placed particular emphasis on the development of drone production. The production of Octopus interceptor drones will soon begin in the UK, which, according to the minister, will allow thousands of such devices to be sent to Ukraine every month.
