WSJ reports unresolved issue on security guarantees for Ukraine after meeting with US in Florida
The negotiation process between the delegations of the United States and Ukraine, which took place in Florida, did not lead to a resolution of the issue of providing security guarantees to Kyiv. The Wall Street Journal published the relevant information, citing a high-ranking representative of the American administration.
The publication notes that among the key aspects that remain without a final decision, the determination of the security format by the United States and Western partners for Ukraine remains. During the dialogue, the hypothetical possibility of territorial demarcation between Russia and Ukraine was also considered. Negotiations in Florida with the participation of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump administration special envoy Steve Witkoff with the Ukrainian delegation took place on Sunday. Rubio described the meeting as productive, while acknowledging that there were significant unresolved issues. The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, for his part, also gave a positive assessment of the results of the consultations.
