WhatsApp beta shows upcoming Facebook profile link option

WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android users with version 2.25.26.12, which is available through the Google Play Beta Program. While it doesn’t bring any big changes right now, it gives a hint about the Facebook linking feature for WhatsApp.

In the new beta update, it has been spotted that WhatsApp is working on a way for users to add their Facebook profile links to their WhatsApp profiles. This means you will be able to show your Facebook profile directly on your WhatsApp account. This feature is similar to one WhatsApp already has for Instagram.

Currently, users can connect their verified Instagram accounts, which then show an Instagram icon and their Instagram handle on their WhatsApp profile. This helps friends and contacts know that the Instagram account really belongs to that person.

With the new update, WhatsApp will let users link their Facebook profiles in the same way. If you verify your Facebook account through the Accounts Center, a Facebook icon will appear next to your profile link on WhatsApp.

However, linking your Facebook profile is completely optional. If you don’t want to share it or verify it, you don’t have to. If not verified, the link will just show a normal icon and the Facebook URL.

This Facebook profile linking feature is still being developed and tested in the beta version of WhatsApp. It is not available to everyone yet, but it will be released in a future update. Stay tuned for more information.
