West Ham vs Tottenham live Team news and line

Each of the last three Premier League meetings between West Ham and Spurs at the London Stadium have ended as 1-1 draws.

Spurs are winless in five league visits (three draws, two defeats) since a 3-2 win in November 2019.

West Ham have won just one of their last seven Premier League matches against Tottenham Hotspur (three draws, three defeats).

That win was a 2-1 away victory in December 2023.

Spurs, it has been insisted, will no longer be so much about business. They’re going to be about “sustained sporting success”.

Thomas Frank is facing West Ham for the first time as Tottenham coach and was asked for his feelings about the game.

Speaking ahead of today’s encounter he said: “Very excited, I know it means a lot for the fans. We will go there and do everything we can to of course try to win the game.

“I think we’re facing a West Ham team which I think maybe didn’t have the best start. I think they got a very good win against Nottingham and I think they did well. I think they’ve got some top players. I’ve known Graeme Potter for years and I’ve followed his fantastic work all the way from Sweden to Swansea to Brighton to Chelsea to now here.

“So big respect for him and his staff. I know it will be difficult and I know this game tomorrow will be extremely difficult because no matter if West Ham were top of the league or bottom of the league or middle of the league, this game will just make them raise their level.

“I expect an extremely difficult game, but we’ll be ready for it and we’re ready to attack.”

The Tottenham boss spoke about Daniel Levy’s exit from the club during the international break.

Thomas Frank said: “Daniel deserves massive praise. He’s been here 24 years, must be one of the longest chairman that has been in the Premier League ever.

“The things he’s built, the success he’s been a massive part of, you can’t praise that enough. I think the two big, big things is he’s actually laid I would say the foundation for the future in terms of this fantastic world-class training centre and of course a world-class stadium.

“Both those two we are at a top level so we can build from there to hopefully compete with the best clubs in the future. That is Daniel.”

The 40-year-old Fabianski has signed new terms in east London having departed at the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

The Polish goalkeeper’s speedy return comes after the departure of third-choice Wes Foderingham to Cyprus side Aris Limassol on Tuesday, a move that left Graham Potter with only two senior goalkeepers in his squad.

Potter wants to continue West Ham’s win streak and build some momentum but the manager knows that isn’t easy in the Premier League.

“I think the motivation is clear for us. We know how important this game is for the club and the fans, so we’re going to go out there and do the best we can to win,” he said.

“There isn’t a big sample to look at from the season so far. We’ve played three Premier League games, and in this league you know that every match is going to be a challenge.

“I’ve played against Thomas’ (Frank) teams a lot over the years, and there’ll be some things there like there was previously. He’s a very well-respected coach, and it’s going to be a tough game, but it’s one we’re looking forward to.

“We want to carry on the feeling of positivity we had after Forest, do our best, and try to come away with all three points.”

Having averaged 3.4 shots on target per game across their first 20 Premier League matches under Graham Potter, West Ham had eight in their 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, their most in a league game under him.
