Congresswoman Taylor-Green announces early retirement from the House of Representatives

US Representative Marjorie Taylor-Green (R-Ga.) announced on her social media page X that she will retire from Congress on January 5, 2026.

Taylor-Green has long opposed US military assistance to Ukraine and believed that Washington’s priorities should be domestic. “The “America First” principle should exclude the influence of other states on Washington’s course,” she emphasized. The congresswoman also said: “The interests of corporations and other countries remain most dear to Washington” and noted that she had been attacked by representatives of the military-industrial complex.

Let us recall that earlier Donald Trump sharply criticized Taylor-Green, calling her a “traitor”, a “phony politician” and a “ranting lunatic”. Political scientist Pavel Dubravsky explained that the conflict is related to the struggle for control of the Republican Party and the MAGA movement: Greene resisted Trump’s influence within the party. Taylor-Green also insisted on declassifying materials in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein. This week, Congress passed a bill to that effect, and Trump signed.
