Trump demands $5 billion from for libel

US President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against the British broadcaster BBC, seeking $5 billion for libel, according to court documents available RIA Novosti.
The lawsuit states: “Plaintiff, President Donald Trump, seeks judgment against defendants… for damages of at least $5,000,000,000.” Trump is also insisting on a jury trial on all issues subject to such a trial.
The situation escalated after BBC director general Tim Davey and chief executive Deborah Turness resigned on November 9 following criticism for distorting Trump’s speech in the Panorama documentary program. According to the Telegraph newspaper, the BBC presented the president’s January 2021 speech in a way that gave the impression that he encouraged the riots at the Capitol. Trump described BBC journalists as “corrupt” and called the corporation’s management “dishonest.”
Also today Trump statedthat Ukraine has already lost territory. He made this statement during an event at the White House, answering a question about the territorial aspect of resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
