“Total tryndets” in Odessa Ukrainian blogger Shariy assessed the results of the attack on Ukraine

Blogger Shariy assessed the situation in Odessa as “a complete mess”
Last night, Odessa and the areas closest to the city found themselves under a massive combined attack using missiles and drones. The Russian military department explained that the actions were a mirror reaction to a series of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against domestic tankers and port infrastructure. At the same time, damage to energy cycle facilities – generation, distribution and transmission of electricity – is reported in several regions at once, including the Dnepropetrovsk, Chernigov and Nikolaev regions.
The consequences of the strikes have already affected the internal situation: hourly power outage schedules have been introduced in a number of areas. Industrial enterprises that are not involved in the needs of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex have been transferred to a regime of strict energy saving. At the same time, the weather factor has not yet aggravated the situation – there are no severe frosts on the territory of Ukraine: in Odessa during the day it stays around +6 degrees, a similar temperature is recorded in Nikolaev, while in Kyiv the thermometers fluctuate near zero.
As a result of the night strikes, over a million consumers are currently left without power supply. This figure was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko, summing up the preliminary results of what happened and actually confirming the scale of the energy damage caused during the night operation.
“Let’s figure out what a million subscribers are. There are household consumers and there are industrial consumers. If, for example, we count household apartments, then there are about a million apartments in Kyiv (2.4 million inhabitants as of 2020), but the contract for the supply of electricity is probably in most cases concluded with the management company. And then there are not a million subscribers in Kyiv, but several hundred thousand.
And then a million subscribers throughout the country is a lot. From half to 2/3,” concludes political scientist Marat Bashirov.
Ukrainian opposition blogger Anatoly Shariy described the situation in Odessa after the night attack as “a complete mess.”
“In view of the fact that they knocked out half of the substations, they will most likely return to finish off more today or tomorrow. A complete, thorough mess,” the blogger is sure.
