Woman who slammed family that photobombed her engagement in public park sparks fierce debate
A woman has sparked a fierce debate online after she slammed a family who photobombed her engagement in a public park.
Sydney Hollimon’s husband-to-be seemed to have planned the perfect proposal… but what he didn’t account for was strangers interrupting the special moment.
Sydney, from Chicago, Illinois, took to TikTok this week to call out woman who unknowingly wandered into their proposal spot and stopped to take a picture.
Sydney, wanting the perfect footage of the proposal without anyone in the background, said she and her now-fiancé were forced to stand there awkwardly and wait for the woman to walk away.
She was furious over it – but the moment and her reaction to it has divided viewers.
In the video, Sydney revealed that her boyfriend had set up an enormous floral archway shaped like heart along with a red carpet lined with candles to propose in front of.
He set it up in a park that had the Chicago skyline behind it, making for a truly romantic backdrop.
But just before he was about to get down on one knee, a couple and a young boy approached the set-up and the mom stopped to take a selfie with her son, forcing Sydney’s boyfriend to delay his proposal.

Sydney shared footage of family walking up to the floral heart and taking the snap as she and her boyfriend waited.
‘If you are the family right there that‘s walking up to my proposal heart as I’m about to get engaged, and you pick up your kid and you take a selfie and take your leisurely time doing so … that’s so rude,’ she scathed. ‘You didn’t even say anything.’
‘We were just standing there waiting patiently for you to be done,’ Sydney added, before mouthing, ‘F**k you.’
She added in the caption, ‘Had to pause the crying to almost cuss them out.’
The video went viral, gaining more than 625,000 views, and people rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts.
And many viewers were quick to slam Sydney, with one user writing, ‘First lesson in life, the world does not revolve around you.’
‘It’s in a PUBLIC PARK why would they not stop and take a picture? Don’t want the PUBLIC to bother you don’t put stuff in a PUBLIC PARK,’ another penned.
‘Next time pick a private place mamas,’ encouraged someone else.

‘Trying to be the main character in a public space is WILD,’ read a fourth comment.
A fifth said, ‘Girl, it’s a public space, they probably thought it was a photo op set up, if you want a private engagement, rent a private place.’
‘They probably thought it was setup to take pictures with. A public backdrop for pictures,’ commented a different user.
Others, however, came to her defense.
‘It’s about being a decent human being,’ one user wrote. ‘She has the right to feel however she feels.
‘They could have at least said sorry – just my opinion because I would never do that on someone’s most memorable days.’
‘Wait people are defending this? That’s OBVIOUSLY a proposal set up SMH… You’re not wrong at all! Common courtesy is gone,’ replied someone else.
‘WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!?’ asked an astounded viewer.
‘I would’ve paused my emotions to actually curse them out I’m sorry,’ announced a different person.
