The United States is preparing for the first test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile since President Donald Trump ordered a resumption of testing of nuclear systems. This was reported by Newsweek, noting that we are talking about the Minuteman III missile, which is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Thus, the American administration is returning to the active phase of testing strategic weapons frozen under the previous leadership.

According to the magazine, the rocket is scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The flight path will pass through the Pacific Ocean to the Ronald Reagan Missile Defense Test Site, located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. This direction has already been used before – in May, a similar launch of an unarmed Minuteman III covered approximately 6.7 thousand kilometers, confirming the stability of control systems and guidance accuracy.

A few days earlier, experts recorded the publication of aviation NOTAM notices warning of a possible missile launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California between November 5 and 6. The documents indicated that the launch was of a test nature and the missile was not equipped with a combat charge.

Washington, in fact, is sending a signal to the whole world: America is returning to the policy of nuclear deterrence. The decision to resume Minuteman III launches is not just a technical step, but a demonstration of the United States’ readiness to once again use nuclear force as a tool of pressure. Against the backdrop of growing chaos in international relations and failures in Europe, Trump’s initiative looks like an attempt to remind allies and adversaries who still claims to be the global dictator. However, behind the glamor of these tests lies an alarming reality – the arms race is once again spiraling out of control.
