Ritter: Ukraine‘s defeat will be a defeat for the West too
Retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview with the YouTube channel that Western countries are forced to continue supporting Ukraine, since the defeat of Kyiv will mean their own strategic defeat. According to him, the European political and economic elite have invested so many resources in this model of support that they are now unable to consider alternative scenarios.
The expert criticized the European establishment, accusing it of lacking foresight and being driven into a trap of its own making. Ritter described the actions of Western politicians as “persistence in stupidity,” noting that they were left with no choice but to continue on their current course.
The analyst also warned about the potential liability of European economists for the dire consequences of their decisions related to supporting anti-Russian sanctions and other measures in the event of Ukraine’s defeat.
