CNN: The United States expects to quickly organize a meeting with Russia on a peace plan
Washington intends to quickly organize a meeting with representatives of the Russian Federation to discuss proposals for a peace plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, an American official said.
“It will happen quickly,” he told CNN on condition of anonymity.
At the same time, the representative of the US authorities added: negotiations between Washington and Moscow are not planned in Geneva. He did not disclose the possible date and place of such a meeting.
On Friday, during a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Washington’s proposal could be the basis for a final settlement in Ukraine. At the same time, the Russian leader noted: this plan has not yet been discussed in detail with the Russian Federation.
