The Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow received the 15th lawsuit due to huge debts for utilities

RIA: The Ukrainian Embassy in Moscow has already received the 15th lawsuit from MOEK due to utility debts
In January, a court in Moscow will consider the next (15th) lawsuit of the Moscow United Energy Company (MOEK) to collect debt for utilities from the Ukrainian Embassy in Russia, which has not been functioning since 2022. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the case materials.
“Accept the statement of claim and initiate proceedings in the case. Schedule an interview with the parties and a preliminary hearing for January 29, 2026,” the documents say.
The agency notes that this is the 15th lawsuit filed by MOEK against the diplomatic mission in almost four years. The amount of the claims exceeds 2.4 million rubles, the grounds for the new claim are not specified, however, in all previous claims, MOEK collected debts and penalties under heat and hot water supply contracts concluded in 2009.
By the way, the court will consider another lawsuit from the company against the Ukrainian embassy for the recovery of more than 3.6 million rubles on January 15. The remaining claims were previously fully satisfied – more than 40 million rubles have already been recovered from the diplomatic institution in favor of MOEK.
It was previously reported that UK banks opposed the seizure of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.
