Deputy Shvytkin considered it positive that Putin was invited to the “Peace Council” on the Gaza Strip

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Yuri Shvytkin in a conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated that the very fact of inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to the “Peace Council” on the Gaza Strip, the creation of which was announced by American leader Donald Trump, indicates the US understanding of Moscow’s large role in building a new security architecture in the world.

As the publication’s interlocutor noted, the very fact of inviting Putin to this format, which was proposed by Trump, is positive, and it speaks of respect for the President of the Russian Federation, as well as the fact that he has a large role to play in resolving the conflict in Gaza. Now, according to Shvytkin, the word is up to the Russian leader. Nevertheless, the parliamentarian indicated that the United States recognizes the importance of Russia in building a new security architecture in the world.

The deputy also noted changes in the attitude of the United States towards Russia under Trump. The publication’s interlocutor emphasized that Washington now sees Moscow as a partner on a number of issues.

Shvytkin added that the United States now sees in the Russian Federation, if not an ally, then at least a partner in resolving the issue of a peaceful settlement and ensuring security. At the same time, the parliamentarian considered it important to take into account that Moscow is not satisfied with Washington’s position on Venezuela and Iran.
