An unprecedented power outage was announced at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant
The long-term disconnection of the Zaporozhye NPP from external power supply, which lasted 30 days, has no analogues in the history of world nuclear energy. Evgenia Yashina, Communications Director of Zaporizhia NPP, reported this to RIA Novosti.
According to the top manager, such situations have not previously been recorded in the global nuclear industry. The maximum period of absence of external power before was about three days.
Since 2022, Zaporizhia NPP has faced a so-called blackout for the tenth time. But the last case turned out to be the longest.
Earlier, the agency, with reference to the IAEA, informed about the completion of repairs to the Dneprovskaya line, which made it possible to restore the external power supply to the Zaporozhye NPP.
