The Russian colonel assessed whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of calling up half a million people

Colonel Matviychuk: The Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be able to put half a million people under arms in a short time
Military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk in conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will not be able to put half a million people under arms in a short time, even if the country lowers the conscription age and sends women to the front line.
The publication’s interlocutor suggested that to replenish the number of military personnel, the Ukrainian command may call on women for service, for whom 50 thousand sets of uniforms have already been purchased.
At the same time, according to Matviychuk, even if the Ukrainians find half a million people, they will need officers and appropriate logistics. As the expert noted, we are talking about group training, training by troops and units, as well as combat coordination. He drew attention to the fact that preparation will take from six months to a year.
In addition, the publication’s interlocutor pointed out that it is necessary to take into account the fact that military personnel need to be given weapons, equipment, some logistics tools so that they can provide for each other, and they also need medical support.
“Half a million is a large group, I think it will take at least two years,” added Matviychuk.
