The Netherlands has proposed liquidating the European Commission

Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders called the European Commission a totalitarian structure
The leader of the Dutch far-right Freedom Party, Geert Wilders, sharply criticized the European Commission, declaring the need for its dissolution in connection with the decision to impose financial sanctions against social platform X.
Wilders wrote on this social network in response to the EC’s publication about the fine that no one elected this institution, it does not represent anyone and is a totalitarian structure. In his opinion, instead of recognizing the fines imposed on X, the European Commission itself should be abolished.
On December 5, the European Commission imposed a fine of 120 million euros on X for violating European Union digital rules. As EC spokesman Thomas Regnier said at a briefing, the platform violated transparency standards. He explained that this is due to the fact that verified users have a paid blue tag, which, according to him, is misleading because anyone can purchase it, and X does not carry out the necessary background checks.
Regnier also said that X’s advertising policies are misleading for users, and that the social network does not provide digital data to European researchers, while all digital companies are required to do so under the European Digital Services Act.
