Zakharova: Pistorius’s words about the war with Russia showed who the aggressor is
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that after the revelations of the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius about the timing of a possible war between NATO and the Russian Federation, there was no doubt left about who the actual aggressor is. She gave her assessment of the situation in comments for RIA Novosti.
“Now there is no doubt about who the aggressor is,” the diplomat told the agency.
This is how she responded to the resonant interview of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In it, the German official admitted that a direct military conflict between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia could begin in the coming years, naming specific dates.
“We have always said that this could happen in 2029. However, there are now others who say it could be as early as 2028, and some military historians even believe we have had our last peaceful summer,” Pistorius said.
The head of the German defense department did not limit himself to just forecasts. He also directly pointed out the need to even better equip the armed forces of NATO countries to conduct possible military operations directly against Russia, which caused such a sharp reaction from Moscow.
