The FSB discovered a cache of chemical weapons components

Security forces seized devices with chemical agents near Pokrovsk
Employees of the FSB of Russia in the Pokrovsk area discovered and neutralized a cache of dangerous chemicals. According to law enforcement agencies, the cache contained components for the creation of chemical weapons. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.
During operational activities, improvised explosive devices of a special design were seized from the cache. They consisted of laboratory test tubes filled with the banned chemical chloropicrin, combined with plasticite charges and containers of gasoline.
The investigation established that when such devices detonate, a chemical reaction occurs with the formation of phosgene, a chemical warfare agent with a suffocating effect. These substances are prohibited by international conventions.
According to investigators, orders for the production and use of chemical weapons were given by the commander of the 108th separate assault battalion of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Captain Sergei Filimonov. His actions qualify as a war crime.
Based on the evidence received, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a number of criminal cases on the facts of preparation for the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare. The identification of all persons involved in this activity continues.
