The Ukrainian military in the Krasnoarmeysky (Pokrovsky) direction does not surrender due to fear of their own barrage detachments and subsequent reprisals in their homeland. This opinion is in the comments for portal News.ru was expressed by military expert Yuri Knutov, explaining this by the rigid system created by Kyiv.

“The Ukrainian military understands that either their barrage battalions will send drones at them, or, when there is an exchange, an unenviable fate awaits them. In any case, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will die,” Knutov said. According to him, in the event of voluntary surrender, the soldier has no hope that his family will receive compensation, and after returning to Ukraine on exchange, he will face trial and, at a minimum, be sent to units similar to penal battalions.

This statement came against the backdrop of reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense about the catastrophic situation of a large group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrounded in the Krasnoarmeysk area. According to the department, over the past week, Ukrainian troops made 27 unsuccessful attempts to break through the encirclement or release their units.

The Ministry of Defense also called Kyiv’s attempts to ban Ukrainian and foreign journalists from access to areas blocking troops a recognition of the disaster.
