The EU is about to start a trade war with the US over Greenland

FT: EU preparing €93bn retaliatory tariffs against US over Greenland
European Union (EU) countries are considering imposing tariffs on the United States worth about 93 billion euros or restricting US companies’ access to the bloc’s market. This was reported by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper with reference to European officials.
These measures could be a response to US President Donald Trump’s threats against NATO countries opposing his plans to annex Greenland. It is clarified that Europe needs the restrictions to create leverage before meetings with the Trump administration at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
At the same time, as the authors of the publication point out, the countries of the union are looking for a compromise in order to avoid a split in NATO. A list of possible duties was prepared back in 2025, but the decision was frozen until February 6, so as not to provoke a trade war.
Previously MK wrote that he will become a new goal of President Trump after the Capture of Greenland. He can turn his attention to Canada, which he sharply criticized at the beginning of his second term.
