Location, Location, Location viewers have criticised a couple for splashing out £350,000 on a bungalow that backs onto the M40.
Scott and Aston, who both work at Heathrow Airport as cabin crew, roped in property expert Kirstie Allsopp to help them find their dream home.
The married couple wanted a two-bedroom ‘blank canvas’ with parking for two cars, a garden, and an easy commute to the airport.
Scott and Aston – who met in 2021 – adored the pricey area of Marlow, but found that their budget of £350,000 did not stretch far.
They instead ended up putting in an offer at the maximum price of their budget for a 180 sq ft bungalow in the village of Stokenchurch, which is surrounded by the scenic Chiltern Hills.
However, they were criticised by viewers of the Channel 4 show, who questioned why they would buy the ‘nightmare’ house.
One wrote: ‘Couldn’t even consider living in a house backing onto a motorway. Pollution, constant noise. Nightmare!’
Another said: ‘Once viewed a house in Stokenchurch… the noise from the M40 was loud!’

A third penned: ‘Who would want a motorway at the bottom of their garden and a great fence hiding it?’
A fourth commented: ‘Amazing that some people can overlook a motorway at the bottom of their garden.’
Upon entering the bungalow, the pair said they were ‘very excited’ to view the property, despite Kirstie admitting that it ‘needs work’.
The television presenter added that the kitchen was ‘crying out to be upcycled’, along with the living room flooring, adding: ‘It’s a very good size but these floors are lovely but they need to be resurfaced and re-done.’
The two double bedroom bungalow ticked a lot of boxes for Scott and Aston as it had a garden, garage, conservatory and it is just a 32-minute drive away from Heathrow Airport.
Phil also weighed in on the property and said: ‘The garden is south facing, but does back onto the M40, which is what I’d say makes a house this size affordable in this area.’
Aston said that he almost immediately felt ‘a bit emotional about it’, adding that the bungalow was ‘evoking something within me’.
The keen couple said they have mentally already ‘moved in’ to the house as soon as they got through the front door.

Kirstie added: ‘This bungalow, that is good in parts but neglected in others, has really floated their boat. It just shows you should always look at everything.’
When weighing up whether the noise from the busy motorway was worth it, Aston said: ‘You can hear it but obviously we’re standing right next to the window.’
While his partner Scott said: ‘It has the potential to be a home, it just needs a bit of love.’
When the pair had finished touring the bungalow, they then met up and asked when they could put an offer into the property, which had only just come onto the market.
Kirstie then phoned the estate agent, who said she was ‘absolutely confident that £350k is a realistic offer for the property’.
She admitted that they had five more interested buyers viewing it. Kirstie then recommended they offer the asking price and have it taken off the market so that ‘nobody else ever sees it’.

They said they wanted to keep the original flooring but sand it down along with the cupboards and give it a ‘fresh new colour’.
