Samsung’s One UI 8.5 leak reveals exciting design changes

Samsung just started the One UI 8 stable rollout for Galaxy devices, and there’s already something new on the way. A test version of One UI 8.5 has been spotted, which gives us a first look at the changes Samsung is planning next.

We can now see what the future of Galaxy software might look like with One UI 8.5 leaked images shared by @Ryder8956. The images show that new changes and design upgrades are coming soon.

One UI 8.5 leaked images reveal a major change in the Settings app. Samsung is going for a cleaner and simpler design. Menu items are now more compact, and the small text below each option has been removed. This makes the page look less crowded.

Moreover, the search bar has moved to the bottom of the screen to make it easier to reach. There are also gradient effects at the top and bottom edges, and drop shadows have been added to the menu boxes and search bar. These changes give the screen a more layered and modern look.

When you open a settings menu, the back button now floats and has a shadow, which looks a lot like Apple’s iOS 26 style. The setting boxes also have a soft shadow and gradient effect, which makes them look like they’re floating.

These design changes may look small, but they show a big shift in how Samsung wants its user interface to look and feel with One UI 8.5. Currently, the design changes have been spotted for the Settings app, but it is expected that this new style will likely come to all Samsung apps.

Samsung is currently working to expand the One UI 8 stable update for Galaxy devices and has already released its update roadmap for Galaxy devices. In addition, the company also starts preparation for the next UI, probably be One UI 8.5. It is expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. Stay tuned for more information.
