Samsung Health Assistant leak reveals bold new AI features

Samsung is developing an AI chatbot for its Health app. The company plans to launch as a Beta service in the US later this year. Now, a leak reveals new AI features of the Samsung Health Assistant app ahead of launch.

In their APK teardown, folks over at AndroidAuthority discovered a new AI-powered Health Assistant feature in the Samsung Health app. The feature is under development and hidden within the code of the application.

Samsung Health will integrate a new Health Assistant section. It will be accessible upon navigating from Settings > Health Assist > Samsung Health Assistant. Activating the chatbot requires you to hit the message-shaped icon in the top right.

Thanks to AI, the Health Assistant chatbot provides you with answers to your queries about your fitness and health based on data gathered by Samsung Health. Users can also set fitness goals, track those goals, and receive wellness tips.

The chatbot may also have recommended prompts that will help you explore more about your health and efficiently utilize the AI-powered Health Assist. You will be able to find recommended prompts inside a dedicated section.

For instance, you can ask things like, “How many steps do I need to walk today?”

Despite integrating AI, don’t expect Samsung Health Assist to offer medical advice. It will also not diagnose medical conditions on your demand. The feature is just intended to supercharge the Samsung Health app with AI.

Samsung previously said that it’s open to collaborating with leading health service providers for Galaxy users. It’s expected that the Samsung Health Assist will let you subscribe to medications from Walgreens at launch.
