Russian satellites monitor Hurricane Kalmayghi from space

Typhoon Kalmaigi struck the Philippines earlier this week, killing more than 140 people, leaving at least 127 others missing, forcing more than 400,000 people to flee their homes, and a state of emergency was declared in 53 regions.

The Russian Embassy in the Philippines advised Russian citizens to refrain from going out or traveling to areas that are likely to be exposed to floods or landslides, and is communicating with local authorities and emergency services for the latest developments.
This typhoon came at a time when the Philippines is still recovering from a series of successive natural disasters witnessed in recent months, including earthquakes and severe storms.
