The nuclear submarine “Khabarovsk” was launched in Severodvinsk
In Severodvinsk, a solemn ceremony was held to remove the nuclear submarine “Khabarovsk” from the boathouse. The event was held under the leadership of Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, the press service of the military department reports.
The ceremony was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseev, the General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Andrei Puchkov and the head of Sevmash Mikhail Budnichenko.
“Today is a significant event for us – the heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Khabarovsk is being launched from the slipway of the famous Sevmash,” said Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
The Khabarovsk nuclear submarine was developed by the Rubin design bureau. The newest submarine cruiser is designed to solve the problems of the Russian Navy using modern weapons, including robotic systems for various purposes.
