At a forum in Samara, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that all competitions with the assignment of sports categories should be free.
“Unreasonable collections from parents are unacceptable. Many families do not have the opportunity to pay for children’s sports activities, so we need to work with the regions and take on part of the financial burden,” said the head of state.
Putin added that this does not limit the work of commercial sports clubs. “The more clubs, the better. But the basic minimum of competitions related to categories and qualifying stages should be free,” he emphasized.
The president also recalled his own experience: “If my parents had to pay for my sports activities, I would never have passed the standard for master of sports. I ask the governors to provide this component.”
At the forum, there was also a proposal to include the control of drones in the GTO standards, which the president ordered to be worked out.
