Putin named the Izhevsk airport after the weapons designer Kalashnikov
Russian President Vladimir Putin named the Izhevsk International Airport after the weapons designer Mikhail Kalashnikov.
In accordance with paragraph 1 of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated November 28, 2018 “On assigning individual geographical objects the names of persons who have special merits to the Fatherland,” the head of state decided to name the Izhevsk International Airport after M.T. Kalashnikov.
The corresponding decree, posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts, comes into force from the date of its signing – November 14, 2025.
