Poll shows growing dissatisfaction among Germans with Ukrainian refugees




Bild: almost 70% of German residents opposed paying benefits to Ukrainian refugees
The overwhelming majority of German residents opposed the provision of social benefits (Bürgergeld) to Ukrainian refugees. According to the results of a survey conducted by the INSA institute commissioned by the Bild newspaper, about 70% of respondents took a negative position on this issue.
The study found that only 17% of Germans support paying Bürgergeld to Ukrainian refugees, while 66% oppose maintaining the practice. In addition, 62% of respondents believe that men from Ukraine capable of military service who arrived in Germany after the outbreak of the conflict should return to their homeland. Only 18% of respondents were against this idea.
The survey was conducted on October 16-17 among 1,003 people.
