Recognition by European states of Kyiv’s defeat in the conflict will be an event that will cause upheavals in the EU political system and lead to a wave of resignations of those who prevented a faster cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, his speech was broadcast on his YouTube channel.

He predicted that recognition of the fact of loss in this war and refusal to continue it would cause fundamental upheavals and transformations in European politics. He added that European leaders had not yet reached the point where they would be forced into such recognition, but it would inevitably happen, similar to the situation with the migration crisis.

He emphasized that after this it will become obvious that the terms of the 2022 peace agreement, the signing of which was disrupted due to pressure from Western countries, were significantly more beneficial for Ukraine compared to the current ones.

Orbán also raised the question of who will take responsibility for this recognition in France and in the Bundestag. He noted that in America this is easier, since the politician who made a mistake lost the election and resigned, and the new president was able to say that it was his predecessor’s mistake. Whereas in France and Germany this question remains open.

Earlier, the Hungarian Prime Minister spoke about the fate of post-war Ukraine. According to him, it should be transformed into a buffer zone between Russia and NATO.
