One UI 8.5 may bring a colorful makeover to Samsung app icons

Samsung‘s One UI 8.5 is getting a lot of attention online. Even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet, many leaks and images have started to appear online, showing new designs and features. It seems like Samsung might change the colors of app icons with One UI 8.5.

A recently leaked image shows that Samsung may change the colors of its apps in One UI 8.5. The icons for the My Files, Gallery, and Phone apps have been given new colors in the leaked design. These apps look different from how they appear now in One UI 8.

However, not all app icons are changing. According to the same image, the Camera app icon still looks similar to the current version. So, while some icons are getting a makeover, others may stay the same. These new color changes are not confirmed yet, but early test versions of the software seem to show these updates.

Besides the app icons, earlier leaks also show that Samsung is planning to give One UI 8.5 a new style. The design may be inspired by Apple’s iOS 26. The new look will have floating menus and soft shadows that make the screen look modern and neat.

One UI 8.5 will be based on Android 16 and is expected to launch with the new Galaxy S26 series in January 2026. The Galaxy S26 lineup may include the S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. More updates will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
