One silver lining for Victoria Beckham as game-changing foundation sells out despite £104 price tags – and wins rave reviews from celeb fans

It might cost a small fortune, but Victoria Beckham‘s new foundation has sold out in most shades.

The Foundation Drops, which launched in September and is priced at £104, has flown off the shelves, with most of its 19 colourways currently unavailable at online UK retailers, including Space NK.

The product boasts a light, serum-like consistency, creating a natural, glowing finish and breathable feel.

Its secret weapon, though? The inclusion of Augustinus Bader’s Trigger Factor Complex (TFC8), which stimulates skin cell renewal and promises a nourishing glow with consistent use.

German-born biologist Augustinus Bader, previously the director of cell techniques and applied stem biology at the University of Leipzig, developed his eponymous skincare brand in 2018, disrupting the market with his science-backed products.

The brand’s TFC8 supports the body’s natural self-healing process, and its results quickly formed a cult-like following, which includes Demi Moore, Kim Kardashianand Hailey Bieber.

Bader’s cream can cost up to £450 a pop, though, meaning Beckham’s two-in-one foundation, which rides the wave of skincare-focused makeup, could be considered a steal.

It might come as little surprise that the foundation has made such a fuss then, with celebrities including Dani Dyer and Jack Grealish’s girlfriend Sasha Atwood among those raving about the product online.

Just this week her pal Tana Ramsay also revealed it was her favourite, as she spoke about the importance of protecting her skin after years of sun damage in The Times.

The hype comes as a silver lining for Victoria – who has become embroiled in a public feud with her eldest son, after Brooklyn Beckham, 26, took to Instagram to share a six-page statement, where he said he has no wishes to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself ‘for the first time in my life’.

In it, he claimed his parents had ‘endlessly tried’ to ruin his relationship with the billionaire heiress as the ex Spice Girl cancelled making the bridal gown at the ‘eleventh hour’ before ‘hijacking’ their first dance.

Dyer, who found fame on Love Island, told her followers she ‘caved and got it’, given all the positive reviews. She quickly added to them in her video, saying she ‘loves’ the results.

51-year-old Beckham herself has also taken to TikTok to show her followers how she uses the product.

‘We created The Foundation Drops for minimalists like me,’ said the website product description written by Victoria, now known as Lady Beckham, following her husband David’s knighthood last year.

Former Love Island star Dani Dyer (pictured) said she ‘caved’ and purchased the foundation after seeing all the hype on TikTok

Beckham has previously opened up about her long-term struggles with her skin, saying she has struggled with bad acne, leaving her ‘feeling self-conscious’.

In the video tutorial posted to her official TikTok, she explained how she doesn’t like a foundation that is ‘too heavy’, instead preferring ‘something that isn’t going to sink into my skin’.

‘There’s nothing worse than when a foundation is really thick and you can literally see it sitting in these creases. I hate that,’ she added.

The foundation’s success appears to be following a similar trajectory to the brand’s Satin Kajal Liner.

Beckham’s fashion label had been in the red since launching in 2008, but in 2023 fortunes turned around thanks to her £30 eyeliner. This product flew off the shelves so quickly that her team at the time reportedly struggled to keep up with the demand.

Beckham’s Satin Kajal Liner, which comes in 22 colours, has been hailed as ‘the perfect piece of make-up’ by not only women in the UK, but also across Europe and in America since it launched.

Its popularity has been boosted by the former Spice Girl offering tutorials on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram – and friends of the star say that she, too, uses it every day.

A fashion insider told The Mail on Sunday at the time: ‘This has been an absolute gem of a product for Victoria.

‘It has become so popular, Team VB says that they can’t get it made and out there quickly enough. While it might seem expensive compared to high-street ranges, ordinary women are buying it and then learning how to use it by watching Victoria’s tutorials.

‘There are other products being launched and the fashion is becoming more popular but the eyeliner is the stand out. It has been a triumph.’

Those close to Beckham say that she is ‘immensely proud’ of the eyeliner, while its tens of thousands of fans say that it is easy to use, stays in place, and are impressed with the range of colours.

Beckham extended her fashion brand in 2019 when she launched her beauty range, inspired by her signature ‘smokey eye’ for which she has become known.

Speaking to Vogue France in October 2023, Beckham said: ‘It’s such an exciting time. This year, we made a profit. This takes time, especially for an independent brand.

‘This is just the beginning. I have lots of ambitions and I work hard to achieve my goals. I never wait for things to fall into my lap. Now that I have laid down the groundwork, the real work can begin.’
