The Nobody Wants This season two trailer has revealed the first look at Leighton Meester as she prepares to join the Netflix show as an Instagram mommy influencer.

It was announced in February that the Gossip Girl alum, 38, would be appearing alongside husband Adam Brody and Kristen Bell in the adored romcom, which follows the relationship between unconventional rabbi Noah (Brody) and agnostic, sex and dating podcaster Joanne (Bell).

On Thursday morning, the streamer dropped the official trailer for the hotly anticipated next series and showed Leighton as Kristen’s middle school nemesis, Abby.

Dressed in a baby blue two-piece skirt suit, an overexcited Abby screams with delight at seeing her old school friend at a function and runs over to give her a hug while waving with both hands.

Her enthusiasm is clearly not reciprocated by Joanne though, who looks uncomfortable in her clutches.

While fans of the show can’t wait to see Leighton in action, some worried about her mommy influencer character.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one predicted: ‘Oh she’s gonna annoy me bad.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘She’s gonna be insufferable.’

‘Mommy influencer?? Ok,’ a third said.

Nobody Wants This season two is set to premiere on October 23 and consists of 10 thirty-minute episodes.

Besides Leighton, guest stars for series also include Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, Arian Moayed, Kate Berlant and Seth Rogen.

‘First comes love, then comes life,’ the synopsis for the next chapter teases.

‘The last time we saw agnostic podcast host Joanne and unconventional (hot) rabbi Noah, their unmatched chemistry surprised everyone in their lives, including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe), his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons) and sister-in-law Esther (Jackie Tohn), and even themselves.

‘Their spark proved stronger than all of the obstacles trying to keep them apart.

‘Now, they’re back and fully committed to merging their lives – and loved ones -together.

‘But their differences still exist and can’t be ignored. The challenge now is not just falling in love against all odds, but staying together in spite of them.’

Kristen previously gushed about Leighton’s performance in the show.

‘I know Leighton’s extremely talented, but I did not anticipate what a comedic sniper she was gonna be,’ she told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month.

‘She is effervescent in that episode.’

Leighton and Adam tied the knot in 2014 and share daughter Arlo, nine, and a four-year-old son whose name has not been made public.

In January, the family-of-four lost their Pacific Palisades home in one of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that swept through the city.

Over 100,000 Los Angeles residents were forced to flee their homes and dozens were confirmed dead as a result of the unprecedented infernos, which began with the Palisades Fire on January 7.

The Eaton Fire burned over 14,000 acres while the Palisades Fire scorched nearly 24,000 acres.
