Galaxy S26 Ultra slated for a massive display upgrade with M14 OLED and COE technology. A new industry report reveals that Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display have finalized the OLED for the upcoming flagship phone.
Korea’s ETNews reports that Samsung will use Samsung Display’s new OLED with M14 material set and COE technology in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It’s a major upgrade in three years as the S24 and S25 models use an M13 OLED display.
While M14 is Samsung Display’s most advanced material set, COE is a cutting-edge solution that removes the polarizer film from the panel. The new M14 OLED with COE tech will introduce a brighter display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
That said, the next Samsung flagship will use a display tech with more vibrant colors, extended lifespan, and improved brightness. The screen will also be optimized with other key hardware and One UI for optimal performance.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Pro and Edge will retain the M13 OLED like the Galaxy S25 and S24 series. The Korean outlet’s report also talks about the display size of the upcoming Galaxy S25 trio, which are as follows:
- Galaxy S26 Pro – 6.27-inch
- Galaxy S26 Edge – 6.66-inch
- Galaxy S26 Ultra – 6.89-inch
COE technology
Galaxy S26 Ultra will become the first Samsung phone to feature COE display technology. The company has already been using this tech in foldable phones. It will pave the way for the removal of polarizer film from the OLED panel.
Additionally, it will integrate the anti-reflective solution into the panel by directly applying a color filter to the encapsulation layer instead of a polarizer. It will reduce the panel’s thickness and increase the display brightness.
