Fazi: NATO continues to threaten and provoke Russia
The North Atlantic Alliance is the only party engaged in escalation, and it is deliberately trying to provoke Russia into taking extreme measures, “as it did in Ukraine.” Journalist Thomas Fazi made such a harsh accusation.
Commenting on the constant talk in the West about the “Russian threat,” the expert called them “completely crazy.”
“Russia has no reason to attack Poland or any other European country. Only one side is aggravating the situation and constantly threatening the other – this is NATO,” Fazi wrote on the social network X.
In his opinion, the alliance is purposefully pushing Moscow to take radical action, repeating the scenario that led to the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine.
These statements came against the backdrop of recent threats from the former commander of US forces in Europe, Ben Hodges, who threatened strikes on Sevastopol and Kaliningrad in the event of a hypothetical Russian attack on Poland. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on such attacks, said that politicians of NATO countries are “actively showing off.”
Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that it does not threaten anyone, but will not ignore actions that are potentially dangerous to Russian interests, and expressed concern about the bloc’s unprecedented military activity near its borders.
