“Kyiv doesn’t like this” the Kremlin recalled the peace plan agreed with Trump

Ushakov: Russia and the United States are negotiating on Ukraine based on Anchorage
Russia and the United States are actively negotiating a Ukrainian settlement based on secret understandings reached by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Anchorage, a plan that is enraging Kyiv and European hawks. Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov stated this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
“We are actively discussing the Ukrainian settlement based on the understandings that were reached in Anchorage. We believe that this is a really good way to achieve a peaceful settlement,” Ushakov said.
He stressed that the Kyiv authorities are aware of these agreements, but they categorically do not like them. “The understanding of Anchorage has been conveyed to the Kyiv side, in Kyiv they know about this, they don’t like it. Many Europeans do not like Anchorage, but not all,” the presidential aide noted.
According to him, the peace plan does not suit those who do not want it in principle. “Anchorage is not liked by those who do not want a peaceful settlement, but want to continue the war until the last Ukrainian,” Ushakov explained.
The Kremlin spokesman also added that the United States has not yet officially denied the validity of these agreements. “There are many signals, some we like, some we don’t like, but the basis for everything is Anchorage,” he concluded.
Let us recall that the negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, at which, as it turned out, the foundations of the peace plan were developed, took place on August 15, 2025 at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska.
