Chinese newspaper: The development of artificial intelligence poses a threat to nuclear submarines
According to the newspaper, a scientific team led by Meng Hao, the chief engineer at the Institute of Research and Development of the helicopters in China, has developed a new anti -submarine system based on artificial intelligence. This system can follow even the most calm submarines, which reduces the chances of the submarine survival to 5 %, that is, only one submarine out of every 20 submarines will be able to avoid detection and attack.
The artificial intelligence system collected by Chinese scientists collects data from water bouquets, underwater sensors, and radars, as well as information on water temperature and its salinity. Then the decision is taken on how to adjust devices and equipment and respond to the submarine attempts to escape using winding ups, or hiding, or sending misleading signals.
The newspaper pointed out that the computer simulation showed the ability of this system to track enemy submarines in about 95 % of cases.
Scientists affirm that the era of “ghost” submarines, which have long been considered the cornerstone of marine deterrence, may be imminent.
