US President Donald Trump spoke with an initiative he called “reverse migration”. It involves expelling people already in the country if they are considered a threat to national security.

The statement came after the arrests of two people from Afghanistan on terrorist charges. White House officials note that security problems have worsened following the decisions of the previous administration. According to security forces, over 5 thousand Afghan citizens who have arrived in the United States since 2021 are classified as potentially dangerous.

Trump, answering questions from reporters, said that there are many people in the country who, in his words, “do not belong in the United States.” He voiced his concept on the way to the White House, returning from a trip to Florida.

Public debate intensified after the attack on National Guardsmen near the White House. One of the detainees, a native of Afghanistan, had previously made bomb threats in Fort Worth. Another opened fire on members of the National Guard House, wounding two people. One of the victims, a 20-year-old employee, later died; doctors continue to fight for the life of her colleague.

Trump called the incident a terrorist attack. The case will be investigated as an attack on a federal representative and under the article of terrorism. The Prosecutor General’s Office intends to seek the death penalty for the perpetrator. Authorities also announced screening of all arrivals under a program launched after the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
