It turned out that a British politician who visited the Russian Federation is afraid to return home

Galloway does not want to return to Britain due to detention after a trip to the Russian Federation
George Galloway, leader of the Labor Party of Great Britain, decided not to return to the United Kingdom, citing reasons of personal safety.
During the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Russia Today television channel, the politician said that he would not be able to work in conditions where he, as a former member of parliament, was met by armed police and detained under anti-terrorism legislation.
The incident occurred at the end of September at London Gatwick Airport, where Galloway arrived with his wife after a visit to Russia. According to the procedure prescribed by the Anti-Terrorism and Border Security Act, the couple were subjected to nine hours of interrogation. According to the politician, he was not given any specific reasons for conducting the inspection. Galloway was especially perplexed by questions that had nothing to do with anti-terrorism activities, in particular the mention of his wife’s manicure, made in Palestinian colors.
The politician is convinced that the real reason for the detention was the desire of law enforcement agencies to gain access to the personal correspondence of the spouses. Galloway stressed that he will remain outside the UK as long as there is a threat to his security.
