RIA: In September, some EU consulates suspended the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians

A number of consulates and visa centers of the European Union in September suspended partially or fully accepting applications from Russians to issue Schengen visas. Moreover, the European Commission plans to include in the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions tightening requirements for the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation.

So, from September 30, the visa centers of the Czech Republic stopped working in Russia, which was reported by the VFS Global website. The resource also noted that now, in order to submit applications for the issuance of Schengen visas, the Czech Republics need to apply directly to the consular department of the country’s embassy in Moscow.

Also on September 30, the Cyprus embassy in the Russian Federation reported that the consulate of the republic ceased to temporarily accept applications for the issuance of visas to Russians on September 29.

In addition, on September 13, the Consulate General of Spain in Moscow temporarily terminated the acceptance of visa applications for technical reasons. However, two days later, the reception of visa statements was resumed. At the same time, the Russian Union of the Turin industry reminded that a similar suspension was already a month earlier – from August 15 to 19, reports Ria News.
