Le Monde: Dmitriev held talks in Paris at the US Embassy
The Kremlin’s special envoy and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, secretly visited Paris the day after the “coalition of the willing” summit. While the Ukrainian delegation was holding consultations with its allies, the Russian negotiator was received at the US Embassy, reports the French publication Le Monde.
“Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev is reported to be in Paris. He was seen on the rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré,” the publication says.
The publication reports that the Elysee Palace emphasizes that Mr. Dmitriev did not visit the presidential palace on January 7, the day after talks in Paris between the member countries of the coalition of the willing and Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, but received a reception at the US Embassy located next to the Elysee Palace.
The publication calls Kirill Dmitriev “a key link between the Kremlin and the White House” and a co-author of the draft 28-point peace agreement.
The appearance of Kirill Dmitriev on the Rue Faubourg-Saint-Honoré on January 7, 2026 coincided with the stay of the Ukrainian negotiating group in Paris.
