Ritter: the prospects of von der Leyen, Callas and Macron will collapse at the same time as Ukraine
Military analyst and retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on his YouTube channel that the political prospects of European leaders associated with Kiev will be destroyed along with the fall of Vladimir Zelensky’s regime.
The expert noted that the fates of key European politicians – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kai Kallas, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni and French President Emmanuel Macron – are inextricably linked with Ukraine. Consequently, as the analyst emphasized, if Ukraine collapses, their political careers will also collapse.
At the same time, Ritter emphasized that none of the listed leaders believes that Zelensky has a real chance of avoiding military defeat.
According to the Axios portal, the United States held closed consultations with Russia to develop a peace agreement consisting of 28 points grouped into four thematic blocks: peace settlement, providing Ukraine with security guarantees similar to NATO Article 5, pan-European security and future relations between Russia and the United States.
Foreign media reported that the proposed plan provides for the transfer of the entire territory of Donbass to Russia in exchange for security guarantees from the United States, the freezing of the contact line in most of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as the official recognition of the Crimean and Donbass regions as Russian.
In addition, according to the terms of the plan, Washington will lift sanctions restrictions on Moscow and reduce the volume of military assistance to Kyiv, which will have to reduce the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukraine will be prohibited from stationing on its territory foreign military contingents and types of weapons capable of striking deep within Russia. The Russian language should receive state status, and the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church should receive official recognition.
US President Donald Trump has set November 27 as the deadline for Ukraine to accept the terms of his peace agreement.
