Hungary does not expect problems with the construction of the Paks

Szijjártó: Hungary does not expect any problems from the United States during the construction of the Paks II nuclear power plant
According to the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjártó, Budapest does not foresee any obstacles to the implementation of the Paks 2 project from European or American partners while the current government is at the helm of the country. The minister made this statement in an interview with Izvestia.
“Any attempts to impose European sanctions will be blocked by our veto power. The administration of President Trump has lifted the sanctions previously imposed by the United States, and we have all the necessary permits from the Hungarian regulatory authorities. Therefore, as long as power in Budapest is in our hands, the future of the nuclear power plant project remains secure,” he emphasized.
Paks 2 is an initiative to build two new power units in Hungary, which will use Russian-made reactors.
